Petition Against Government Betrayal of Privacy and Trust
To the new U.S. administration:
We, the undersigned, demand an end to the US intelligence and law enforcement’s betrayal of its ethical responsibilities, constitutional obligations, and the trust of the people. We are disappointed by the unaddressed issues of privacy infringement, political manipulation, and election interference that remain unresolved post-election.

I think the fact that America has a show like The View should really say everything you need to know about our current media situation. If I'm fearful about anything, it's that people don't think for themselves anymore.
Robert Aguilar 20.11.2024 at 21:02
As a U.S. citizen, I stopped listening to mainstream media almost 20 years ago. I can't stand the bias.
Michael Rogers 20.11.2024 at 20:55
If you're feeling sad watch a Trump rally from beginning to end... It's absolutely amazing the hope that man brings and has for his country

My parents are retired and have MSNBC and CNN streaming in their home 24 hours a day and that's the way they speak about politics. I can't have conversations with them, or my other relatives from their state, because they'll just repeat what they hear.
Lauren Heard 19.11.2024 at 20:13
I agree We all need just facts from the media and that's not necessarily what we get unfortunately...
Gloria Solis 19.11.2024 at 09:59
I've never witnessed these kinds of antics personally, BUT I have personally witnessed people I know take political results personally. They really do act as if something was done directly to them.
Martin Taradejna 19.11.2024 at 09:53
Some celebrating; bragging and others sad; disappointed.
Tiffany Williams 19.11.2024 at 09:48
The media is terrible about blowing things out of proportion
Marchelle Henderson 18.11.2024 at 23:44
There is a large problem with the way social media and media can be manipulated. I think everyone can agree on that. I wish we did have some of the protections against lies being reported.

Personally, I am worried about my future here, even as a naturalized citizen because I’m not sure whether I’ll be profiled if certain actions take place. I am also deeply worried for others and for the future of the children I had planned to have in the next few years.
Margaret Biondo Marcotte 18.11.2024 at 20:10
So while the media manipulation did influence a lot of the strong feelings going into things and even now, I don’t think I’m the only one feeling this weight.
Matthew Nichols 18.11.2024 at 10:51
Our freedom of speech here in the US seems to be declining all the time. Which is horrible!
Dustin Sydnes 18.11.2024 at 04:00
It does a great job explaining what is happening in this brave new world of ours. Thank you for having the courage to speak up for us.
Shayla Johnson 18.11.2024 at 03:49
the country is in great hands.

Just going to privatize the public domain so corporations can reap the profits in the long run they will just keep increasing what the public will pay even though private corporations use loop holes to get away with offshore profits.

Yes ppl are freaking out, is it a majority, no, but it is happening. The fact they are making it seem like it’s everyone and their mother is ridiculous, but I’m sure ppl in the UK have a warped idea of Trump and can’t imagine how he was voted in either. The media is bad in the US but it’s worse over there, and watching y’alls free speech being taken from you is really scary and worrisome.
Bryan Lopez 17.11.2024 at 22:32
He WAS president once. Our democracy was not destroyed, LGBTQ were supported, the border was better controlled, abortion numbers actually increased, and the economy was better than now. So why do people fear? Because the media tells them to.
Luthissa Hodge 17.11.2024 at 20:37
Yep, it's awful.
Zachary Whitsett 17.11.2024 at 19:56
I’m gutted and very scared for the future of America.
Maria Castillo 17.11.2024 at 09:55
Excellent we need more of you, I have no words to show my appreciation.
Tonya Robbins 17.11.2024 at 08:22
I'm happy with the results, but I wouldn't shave my hair if it went the other way. I would just go with it.
Stephanie Jones 17.11.2024 at 08:07
These comments are spot on. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing but not everyone's speech is kind or true. It's protected either way. I see no "hysteria" in person here, just like minded people expressing their sadness and fear for the future. I have vowed to not watch tv for awhile because "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" as we say. Everyone is continuing to live their lives as you must do. I did make sure to renew my passport the day after the election just in case however...
Tammy Marcum 17.11.2024 at 07:44
Most people are completely fine. There are people who were in their little bubble no caring about the working class who got shocked.
Cullen Sullivan 17.11.2024 at 01:23
Freedom of speech is a wonderful right that we in the USA have. I agree that media distorts the truth.
Brittany Garrison 17.11.2024 at 00:38
Stop watching the corporate media. You get a warped view of what’s happening.
Janis Miller 16.11.2024 at 21:32
I honestly think Trump won because MORE people are digging into facts and not allowing the media to emotionally sway them. I think people are stepping away from network news. Also, Harris was just about the worst choice for the dems. Biden would have been one step worse. If people are being fearful in any way because Trump has been elected, it's because they are not thinking for themselves, not looking into the facts, and are believing all of the false information spread about him.
Christopher Dennis 16.11.2024 at 20:32
You’re so right about the way media as well as politely motivated people present what they call facts when it’s their own opinions.
Shawn Schlossberg 16.11.2024 at 16:31
It’s not just media. Its people! It has been chaotic online and in person since the election.
Donald Myhre 16.11.2024 at 14:29
I live in Florida, and I haven't seen any meltdowns personally, only on social media
Valeria Nunez 16.11.2024 at 12:23
Agree about media. It used to be like that.

They will make TOKEN changes and still conduct their guerrilla propaganda against the old fans.
Jasmine Burchett 15.11.2024 at 20:24
Absolutely agree with you about the media. Here in the US freedom of speech has been somewhat stifled on certain topics. Also our news media has become very biased. We get more opinions and editorials than actual unbiased news reporting.
Sandy Lowe 15.11.2024 at 18:10
American here. We will always fight for our freedom of speech. Younger people do not realize how precious & quickly that freedom can be taken away. I blame this what is not being taught in our schools & that is history. There is a revolution here that is growing louder as a lot of citizens are waking up to & fighting back on what is being called "the main stream" media.
Donna Hemans 15.11.2024 at 18:09
US citizen here. Yes, the media induced hysteria is and has been frankly abusive. I stopped consuming mainstream news back in 2020 after the polarization got so terrible, and switched to independent news outlets, podcasters and on the ground reporting. Which has served me well over the last four years. I feel more secure in the information I’m receiving and that carries over into the rest of my life, mind and body. Media is a powerful thing. What we here in the US have been experiencing is the result of what happens when media is high jacked for political purposes instead of its intended use. Which is simply to inform the social public of what is happening in the world around them. Information is powerful and there will always be people who want to control it.
GEORGIANA CALATEAN 15.11.2024 at 17:57
Our media in the US is awful. I don't watch!
Gary Danel 15.11.2024 at 01:44
only want to see the truth.
Braylynn Christianson 15.11.2024 at 01:17
It has become a STATUS QUO with no one willing to take a good look at this issue. This would be a MEANINGFUL CHANGE, meaningful show of transparency. Let these fixers do their job.
Jesus Carrizoza 14.11.2024 at 21:10
No hysteria that I have witnessed, personally disappointed but we fight on and hope for the good of the country.

Kelly Elliott 14.11.2024 at 14:35
So agree with your comments, media needs to report ONLY the facts!
